It's been a long time

THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE

Who moved my house and put this Swweeettt looking new house here?? Goodbye blue and white and hello grey/brown and white. We removed the shutters that were too small and all the old dead overgrown shrubbery in front of the window and entry way to the house. We still need to paint the gutters white because they are still blue and replace the front door. We will probably get the grass growing and plant shrubs and flowers next summer.

Jeff hard at work.

After:

The pictures aren't the best because it was a little dark out.

Again the before and after:

YUCK!

Remember the barbeque sauce/ketchup splatters I've been finding throughout the house from the previous owner? Well I found some more when I was washing the glass to the front door light fixture. It's kind of like playing Where's Waldo?

HERE ARE SOME OTHER THINGS WE HAVE INSTALLED IN THE HOUSE.

Five panel doors for throughout the house.

Fans for the bedrooms. It's hard to find a good looking fan with a light.

ANTIQUE SHOPPING

We went antique shopping for Memorial weekend with Jeff's cousin Laurie and bought two pretty new light fixtures. The pictures don't do them justice

This one will most likely end up in the laundry room.

I had to banter with Jeff about getting this chadelier. After giving up and finally letting me get it you've never seen anyone baby something more. When he put it in the car he "oh so delicately" laid it on its side because he said if it was placed straight up it might break one of the crystals. He wouldn't let me pick up the sconces from it when we got home because he thought they were "too delicate" for me to be handling. When we packed it away he put a sheet on the bottom of the box and bent the sides of the box so it wouldn't squish the chandelier.

I was so pround of myself though because it was listed for $130 and i got them down to $50. It looks a little yellow in this picture but it is really white.

DE BOOTS

Boots trying to find a way out of the construction zone.

WORKS IN PROGRESS.

Here are a couple of things I thought I would show that we are going to be working on. A little tease of what will be coming next if you will.

Here is a light that I bought to go over the dinning room table at the Restoration Hardware outlet. It's a little plain so I think I'm going to add to the shade. I was thinking of either adding a black ribbon to the top and bottom of the shade or stenciling with material paint a damask pattern on it.

I wanted a great vintage looking parital glass door for the kitchen opening to the soon to be laundry area. We found a cool school yard looking door at Habitat for Humanity. The glass section of the door slides up and down. We are going to paint it white.

WALLPAPER

Wallpaper for the master bedroom that will be going on one wall. The sample they sent me is much more metallic looking though.

I know, I know, the suspense is going to kill you.
